Exempt Dogs Information

Please Read All The Information Below

We have great news!

Our insurance company has confirmed that XL Bully breeds are still able to come enjoy the woods. There are some rules that must be followed but this is fantastic news for any owner of an exempt dog.

     * Please note this is from our insurers - Pet Business Insurance, and therefore we can only confirm this applies to our woods and not other fields. You will need to contact the individual fields to check if their insurance covers Exempt Dog Breeds.

Please read the following information carefully as the rules must be adhered to (this is copied from the email sent by the insurance provider):

  • "The dog is registered with the index of exempted dog (IED) and a copy of the life certificate (exemption Certificate) is provided

  • A copy of the public liability insurance certificate for the dog is provided

  • The dog handler ration is 1:1 with their handler at all times

  • The dog is Neutered - in line with Government Rules

  • The dog is microchipped

  • The dog is kept on a lead and muzzled until the gate is hut when entering the woods

  • The dog is put back on a lead and muzzled before opening the gate to leave the woods

  • You can remove the lead and muzzle once inside the woods

If the household has more than 1 dog, they can come to the woods together as long as they have a minimum of 1 handler. All dogs leads and muzzles can be removed once in the woods including the XL Bully.

If there are dogs from different households, the banned breed will need to remain muzzled and on a lead at all times with a 1:1 handler.

I hope this brings clarity to any questions you may have, if and when I receive more information I will update this page and our social media pages.
